A summer tradition now entering its 37th season, Lexington Picnic with the Pops excited to announce a handful of changes to our format in 2016 - rather than presenting the same performance two nights in a row, we will present two distinct evenings of fun under the stars!
On Friday, August 19, Picnic with the Pops presents a screening of the beloved classic film "Wizard of Oz" with live symphonic accompaniment from the Lexington Philharmonic. Children and adults alike will be transported and will experience the remastered film as never before!
On Saturday, August 20, Picnic with the Pops presents An Evening with Matthew Morrison, featuring special guest artist, actor and Broadway star Matthew Morrison performing favorite songs from Broadway, the Great American Songbook and the hit television series "Glee," on which he starred as Mr. Schuester! The Lexington Philharmonic will accompany the actor, singer and Broadway star for this fun-filled evening of hits.
Taking place in the idyllic setting of Keeneland's Meadow by Keene Barn, patrons now have TWO unique opportunities to enjoy Lexington's best summer cocktail party. As always, table decorations are encouraged. General admission (blanket seating) tickets start at $15 and tables of 8 range from $200-500 - all tickets will be available for this beloved event via Ticketmaster and the Lexington Center Box Office, starting on July 1!
